Progress Report

So I started the dress! It's not going too bad at all, although figuring out how to mark the darts off the pattern was a challenge - thank goodness for You Tube. I have to say the worst part of it is trying to read the pattern. Am I meant to have some sort of degree or licence to be using one?

Yep, patterns can be tricky. I 'wing it' alot. I'm keen to see how you progress with the dress. I am toying with the idea of making Abby's flower girl dress for my BIL's wedding but am scared of shiny slippery fabric.

Eventually you'll just use the pattern and throw away the instructions. You get to know what goes in which order. Shiny fabric slips around something awful, but it's really easy to iron so as long as you iron as you go and pin well, you'll be fine. Lots of luck!!

I know what you mean! Sometimes I can't figure out what they want me to do! But eventually it comes to me. Seeing all the lovely things you have made, I know you can do this too! Good luck!
