I have been "Sew Busy" this weekend! It was brilliant! I spent Friday and Saturday night at a friends house sewing. We had a bit of trouble with the overlocker, trying to change thread, I thought we could just pull them through, well one came undone didn't! And of course, it had to be the hardest one to re-thread, we spent quite some time trying to figure it out. But it was a blast - and we are going to make it a weekly thing. Thanks - you know who!
So what did I sew? I made this peg pinny for a dear friend of mine, who has just had more plastic surgery after a double mastectomy. The peg pinny above is something I have been meaning to make her for a while. She had one and whenever I stayed with her I always volunteered to hang out the washing, so I could wear it. So for Christmas a few years ago she had one exactly the same made for me. But hers fell apart, so now I have made her a new one.
And this bra/top I made for her today. When we were there last weekend, she showed this top to me explaining how she was going to pay a seamstress to make her some more, as they were the only things she found comfortable now. So I offered to do it for her. When I was cutting out a pattern, I made the same piece three times and it was quite different each time. I had a good chuckle at myself, thinking - what an arrogant tart! I often forget I really am only a beginner at sewing and often over estimate my skills. But it all ended well, thank goodness, or there would have been tears.
I also managed to nearly finish another fairly big project, that I can't show you till after Christmas, but you'll all know what I mean when I say tonight I will be hand stitching the binding.

Hi Stacey,
I have received my swap gift from Marianne and hers is still on it's way- either in the air or in some exotic airport. Thanks for posting on my blog- I don't have many visitors! (Maybe I should do a few more giveaways.) I would appreciate it if you could mention the pay it forward giveaway- it would be a shame if it ended with me, Marlya x
