So I have been pretty preoccupied organising my polka dot swap. But in the weekend (which was mud) I made something that I have been wanting to do for ages.
It's the little needle book in the the Cath Kidston Make! book - so here it is - finally!
And as for the mud weekend - we were all happily drinking our fix of choice at a cafe in the mall when my husband got a call, an on call, call! My heart sank! I then spent the next while by myself drinking my hot chocolate, when my husband came back and told me we had to go...he ended up working 22 hours straight...needless to say...I had a mud weekend. I hate being on my own, when I say on my own, without my hubby!
The only thing to ease the blow were these lovely cookie cutters I bought before the "call", but they weren't that great company on Saturday night!
And this fabulous set of five plastic hearts, that clip into each other. I'm slowly getting prepared for the cake extravaganza ahead of me.

How gorgeous - the little book and the hearts! can't wait to see what cakes are ahead!
Love the needle book! Well done xox
well done making something from a book. So many books, so many things to make... Number of things made from books...very few!
Hmn, I know that sinking 'mud weekend' feeling. Must make Monday look almost exciting?!
PS. Came over all appalled at your over-chargedness at evil store. Have stuck some pins in on your behalf.
Gorgeous needle case and it must have been that sort of a weekend...mine was fairly ordinary too.
Hi. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say how lovely your little needle book is :)

Sweet needle case, nice and bright! Bummer about your weekend, hope the next one is better x
Hi Stacey I love that needlebook !
What a cute little needle book! That's something else that's on my endless to-make list too...
Thanks for dropping by my blog the other day. As a new blogger it's great to get comments! I've just read all through your blog and I'm amazed how much crafting you get done with 3 children around! No excuses for me...
Please do visit again, and if you're still on the look out for cute fabric that can be sent to NZ, check out my Etsy shop: www.strawberriesandsushi.etsy.com
Sorry, didn't intend to turn this into a commercial!
Looks like I was too late for your swap, but you've got loads of people signed up, fantastic! Maybe next time...

Very lovely needle case Stacey, pretty flowers. Looks like such a nice book. Nothing like a great craft book. What have you used in the spine of it? Sorry you had a horrid weekend.
very cute needle case! I have that book too and have been meaning for sooo long to make something from it!
The needle case looks great - i hear you on mud weekends - we had one the weekend before last. He got called into work over the long weekend and then ended up doing a 72hr week.
Hi Stacey! The needle case is soooo beautiful! Well I've died and gone to shopping heaven love! Haven't had much time to have a good look, but the clothes are just gorgeous! Haven't done fabric/wool shops, but have asked Adam's Mum to give me some 'lessons'. Lots of love xxx
