So here's the surprise I made for my son - Master K! What do you think?
I have to say I wasn't expecting his reaction. He was absolutely beaming! Not what you expect from your nearly seven year old son: jumping around asking "did you make it just for me? You're the best mummy in the whole wide world!" So I might just make things for him now, far more satisfying than for Little Miss you know who!
The pattern was from the book Toys to Sew: Over 25 cuddly projects to love by Claire Garland. I changed the flower to a heart to symbolise "I Love You!"
So have a good weekend everyone, happy crafting, and I look forward to sharing with you what I get up as well as reading all about your adventures too!
PS I really feel a quilt is coming soon...can anyone recommend a good fabric shop that will ship to NZ? That's the only way I am going to get the "to die for" fabric that I see everywhere in blogland.

I bet K was so chuffed to receive that gorgeous looking bear! That's so sweet! Enjoy your weekend!
The bear looks great, what a great reaction from K - its those things that make it all worthwhile!!! I have been to Patchwork Passion in Onehunga for the quilts I made for my nephews. Which I will post one day, on my blog - one day - must go watching Project Runway! Liz
Aw, he is just gorgeous! I bet he will be so well loved that he'll have half an ear and one eye left in a few years, just like my childhood bear did :-) Well done, you clever mummy!!
What a lovely bear , your son is a very lucky boy !
Lovely bear! Try the purlsoho.com, sewmamasew.com and there are loads and loads of fabric sellers on etsy.com which ship to australia...a few of my faves are:

x let me know how you get on!
You are too kind x
That is so sweet! I love the heart idea instead of the flower.
oh, I love the bear. Great job. and what a cool craft for a boy. Wonderful!
Lovely bear! I have some similar fabric I picked up second hand... now I just need to find a 7-year old! I'm afraid that 10 and 11 is JUST too late...
Have a look at The Fat Quarter Shop. They ship from the US to me in the UK and are enormously helpful. And they have great 'sales' :-)
Hi,
If you are in Auckland , have you tried the scrapbooking shop in Lunn Ave . I`m not sure of the name but they have a great supply of fabrics, Amy Butler, Joel Dewberry etc
The blue bear deserves all the love he gets as he is so handsome and such a nice bear!
I have brought fabric off Ebay and Etsy before, and have been happy with both. Then there is Soule Mamma and Duck Cloth... Ohhh, you will show us what you buy, won't you? :)
Cute little bear! :) I just love my children's responses to my creations too - it's worth the extra effort to handmake things!!
Well, haven't you been busy! Lovely Bears! Good luck with the new quilt. Such a good feeling doing one from start to finish yourself. xox
Hi Stacy, and thanks for visiting my blog! You are the fourth person but what the heck, the more the merrier I say!, I would love to have you as part of my "Pay It Forward". If you can give me your address I will get your handmade gift out to you as soon as I possibly can, {and try to make sure you don't have to wait 365 days :)!}

I got a whole lot of fabric by www.fabricworm.com she sometimes has 10% off if you order a certain amount, look on her etsy store, she states it on there and she sells awesome fabrics another really good site is www.zandsfabrics.com, they are continually having sales sometimes even 20% off there already low prices. every week or 2 they have a sale so I wait till she has 15% off. they have a huge selection. takes a week to get here
