I have put my skirt away that I was working on and decided to finish making a quilt I started a while ago for my daughters 5th Birthday which is in two weeks. The top photo is a finished piece.
This photo is of all the pieces I have made laid out on a store bought quilt, I am using it as a guide for how big I need to make it. It needs to fit a king single bed.

Very pretty and pink!!!
Ooo pretty! So what happens when they hit 5 in Oz - school? Or is that just a unique NZ custom?
It looks gorgeous! Your daughter is very blessed to have you for a mummy! :)
Oh my, that is gorgeous! I started cutting strips for a quilt for our daughter when she was a few months old. She turns 5 in January and I haven't yet sewn a single strip to another one yet.... Still time! Good luck with getting yours done for the big day :-)
A beautiful gift which she will treasure forever. I can see her handing this down on her own daughter's fifth birthday. How lucky she is to have a mumma that can create such a special present. x
thats going to make a gorgeous quilt! we also have king single beds in our house... makes for one very large quilt :)
I absolutely love the fabrics you have chosen for this quilt - just beautiful!..I've just discovered your blog via 'our creative space' and am enjoying scrolling through some old posts. Teresa
good idea about sizing a quilt, I'm always wondering what size to make quilts!
Love the scalloped edging.
